What is inside your child's bedroom?

I recently saw a post on a Blog. It was fantastic. It reminded me of a home tour but in questions, like what's in your bedroom/kitchen/bathroom ect. I got to thinking about it and realized I don't really know what my child has. I buy her new stuff all the time and crowd her with options. Alot of times I catch myself feeling like she doesn't have enough....or feeling like wow so and so had such nicer/newer toys. When it came to searching at what she has in her room I realized she is such a lucky kid. I for sure didnt have so many cool things growing up. I had all my sister hand-me-downs. I want to show her how to be grateful, while as a mom I might feel like she is missing out;there are so many less fortunate kids out there that suffer. We should be thankful for what we have. So I decided to focus on all the fun things she has to play with or look at. :) I would love for others to share too. Not in what do you have to show off, but what do you/your child love and cherish that is in their room. We photographed many images. I stuck them all in collages. She loves her larger items, like her new dollhouse she recieved for christmas. ( we scored it at a consignment shop for $50) She also has a Ariel Kitchen we got on craigslist for $10!!!! Later we found a Ariel vanity at the same kids consignment for $45. She has a Dora castle that has been across country! When we were living in Missouri, we traveled to california and got it at a swap meet there for $5 it traveled home and then we brought it here to the east coast. She was about a year old when we got it. Crazy. I had forgotten. She also has 2 Disney princess toy boxes. One from craigslist for $15 and the other from a virginia thrift store called Unique for $20. She loves her miniture wooden dollhouse. We got it for $8 at a yard sale. :) Her Ariel curtains and bedset were mine as a child. It makes me so happy to see them generation after generation. :) She loves posing her barbies. She LOVES barbies, dolls and stuffed animals. She also like the Disney princesses and fairies. Petshops are sometimes laying around along with tons of those little polly pocket playsets, houses, cars and dolls. I tend to find their little rubber clothes EVERYWHERE! She has a Purple hellokitty she made at the Build-A-Bear workshop! It i naked in the pictures tho. ;) She has a pretty large book collection but I only got one shelf in the picture just to show that is important to us.  All together I was so suprised at all the fun stuff in her room. She is one lucky Princess.

Disney Store.....

Did I mention that last year in may we took a vacation to Florida. We spent some time at Disney. Marisol was old enough to remember the trip. Henry was 6 months old. It was such a great time. I will make a seperate post on the trip. But Marisol loves Disney. She got to meet her favorite Disney Princess. "Tangled" Repunzel!! She even had the same repunzel hair to wear that day. Well we recently found that there is a good sized Disney store at the Tyson Corner mall. We decided to go and take a look. It was so much fun and brought back amazing memories of our vacation last year as a family. Mari wanted a pascal animal in the disney parks, for some reason we never found one. The store we visited here only had a mini one. But it was great. She picked out a repunzel doll and pascal. She loved playing in the castle they had, and trying on all the shoes. Alex and Henry looked at the boy stuff. Mostly Cars and Toy Story. They also had a movie theatre area. It was great. You could chose what movie you wanted to watch. All Disney of course. :) It was the first Disney store visit outside of the one we saw at the park.

Adventures with the kids.

This week Marisol, Henry and I hit the malls. We were in search for some clothes for Marisol. Justice was having an awsome sale. Needless to say we stocked up a bit. Our family spends alot of time travling together so we picked out a new carry bag/ rolling suitcase there as well. They also rode on some rides for fun. Marisol had been asking for new earrings since I can remember. I was so worried about it. Like is she old enough? Responsible enough? Can she handle taking care of them? Before we met with a friend at the outlets, we went into Claires. Marisol picked out some new strawberry earrings. I was so happy for her, and realized this is a journey for both of us. I will need to help her transition and show her how to take care of them. She was very happy. She has never changed her earrings for big girl earrings before. We got her ears pierced at 4 months. We then changed the diamonds to little gold hoops, she had 2 pairs from hispanic family members that we switched back and forth the past 5 years. This was such a step up and something we felt was right. She is turning 6 and is growing up so fast. What an exciting weekend. :)

Celebrando el dia de san valentín.

My Hubby luckily had the day off for valentines day. It was a busy day getting marisol off to school for their valentines party. (Lucky for me Alex takes her to School every morning) I slaved away in the kitchen cooking and cleaning. I also had to do a last minute run to the closest store for napkins, where I also found some cute goodies for the kids valentine bags. I picked up a cute Minnie Mouse necklace and bracelet set for mari, Minnie Mouse bangle bracelet set, a Dora book, and Minnie Mouse art set. I also found a few things for Henry too, like a CARS book, A CARS2 art set, and a walking crab. I came home to put everything together before Marisol came home from school. I worked away I made oreo pie dessert, strawberry cheesecake, and chocolate musse treats. I also got stuff for root-beer floats. Alex had never tried one before and either did our guests. ;) Our good friends from church are from ecuador. They are so great and I love having friends for the kids that share our hispanic heritage. She made tacos de lengua, and tortas méxicanas. Everything was sooo yummy. I made some rice last minute to go along with what she had prepared. Yummy yummy everything was amazing. It was so great to sit around the table and talk about topics we agreed on. The kids just ran around, played and watched the movie R.V. Crazy there were 6 kids running aroun on the lower level of our townhouse. Ha! What a sight. My mom was also able to attend for awhile and enjoyed some of our treats. I had also got goodie bags for each of the kids. The 3 little girls Marisol,Vicki, and Emma got purse shaped bags with bracelets, candies, slinkies and 2 earasers. The oldest Daniella got a mini gumball machine, candy and bracelets. The boys got robot art sets, mini balls, slinkies and candies. We had also recieved a box in the mail that day from Great Grandma. She sent the kids cards, valentines, money, stuffed animals, candy, and valentine debbie cakes. Mari and I each got Alex a card. I also got Alex a chocolate license plate that said I LOVE YOU!  Alex picked up Marisol from school and she brought me a rose. ;) so sweet. I was so happy to have great friends and family together for this years valentines day. It was amazing. I just love feeling a togetherness when the house is full of great company and great food. I love being able to focus on family values and traditions. As well as Heritage and culture. Hope everyone had a great Valentines Day! :)
